Currently seeking a Pediatric Transport Team Supervisor at Johns Hopkins
This position consists of two (2)- 12-hour shifts in the field as well as two (2)- 8 to 10-hour days in the office (the office schedule is flexible daytime hours).
This position is a hand’s on-working supervisor who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the pediatric transports for LSR at Johns Hopkins; sets up and maintains specialized transports according to the specific needs of each patient. As a Paramedic, provides input into or is responsible for the care of the acute patient, anticipates and assists in stabilization, and maintenance of current therapeutic modalities.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Advanced knowledge of pediatric-neonatal critical care medicine and treatment modalities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of a Paramedic program. Additional experience in service-related healthcare occupation demonstrating proficiency in interacting with customers, handling high-level tasks, meeting deadlines, and providing excellent customer service preferred.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of radio, telephone, and wireless communications methods. Ability to comprehend dispatch assignments and use medical terminology.
  • National Registry and State of Maryland Paramedic, current advanced & basic cardiac life support (ACLS & CPR). DC Paramedic license. PA Paramedic license.
  • Maintains: PALS, NRP, STABLE, and ACLS.
  • Unrestricted Valid Driver's License and maintain contracted ambulance vendor's emergency vehicle operator requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing all the common tools and instruments associated with an office environment as well as in the role of a Paramedic.
  • Develop and maintain all required records (patient, transport, vehicle, office, etc.)
  • Have previous management experience which demonstrated the ability to coach and lead a team, as well as provide training.
  • Proven experience in setting/reassessing priorities, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ensure the safety and effectiveness of each transport and staff assigned to the unit.
  • Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment.
  • Perform Administrative functions such as ordering, maintaining a budget, database administration, and vehicle information, etc.
  • Possess superior communication skills and be able to communicate with both field and management personnel. Keep all pertinent employees in the ‘know’ in regard to real-time issues.
