OFFICE OF PARKS, RECREATION AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION ALLEGANY REGION

TITLE/GRADE/SALARY HIRING RATE: PRA 2, $16.61/hour

WORK LOCATION: Allegany Regional Maintenance, Carpentry Crew

NEGOTIATING UNIT: CSEA, NU03 – Operational Services Unit

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Seasonal (up to 1750 hours annually)

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM (Variable)

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Regional Maintenance Supervisor or designee, the selected candidate will assist with skilled maintenance and repair activities, and perform semiskilled maintenance and repair activities including, but not limited to, framing, finish carpentry, roofing, masonry, drywall installation, and painting. The candidate must have working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations associated with building construction, the ability to understand and carry-out instructions, including in writing, ability to interpret drawings, the ability to measure and lay out work, and the ability to use the tools, machines, equipment, and materials associated with building rehabilitation and building construction in a safe manner.

OPERATIONAL NEEDS:

• Candidate must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License as a term and condition of employment.
• Candidate must be available to work a variable schedule, including holidays as needed.
• Candidate must be able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
• Candidate must be comfortable working from heights, i.e. roofs, ladders, etc.
