Part Time Office Assistant/Shipping Clerk Job at WP Rawl
WP Rawl is a grower, processor, and distributor of over 15 different varieties of fresh vegetables harvested year round and more than 50 different packaged value-added products. Since 1925 our headquarters in the midlands of South Carolina has grown from a small family operation to a business retaining nearly 800 employees shipping products to retailers from Florida to Maine across to Texas and Wisconsin. We are currently in search for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk supporting our processing facility in Pelion, SC.
Summary
Assist in maintaining control of day-to-day shipping and receiving operations through clerical support and office presence. The schedule for this position is Monday thru Saturday 3PM - Midnight.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or material
- Unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
- Bill of lading preparation
- Utilize strong communicative and interpersonal skills to help maintain continuous flow of inbound and outbound shipments
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Answer telephones and interact with truck drivers at Shipping/Receiving Office window
- Prepare documents and spreadsheets as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or other related fields
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency is Microsoft programs and Windows operating systems
- Bilingual a plus
Working Conditions:
- Forklift and pedestrian traffic
- Concrete flooring, often wet
- Some cold air areas (36-40 degrees)
- Loud noise levels at times
