Remote Patient Account Specialist *EMPLOYEE MUST BE IN THE STATE OF MONTANA*

Seeking a full-time Patient Account Specialist. This is a remote position with the possibility of occasional travel to Kalispell, MT.

General Purpose

To successfully function as part of a team and to be able to communicate professionally with patients and coworkers.

Must be able to read and interpret medical explanation of benefits and relay the information professionally to patients with inquiries.

Job Responsibilities

• Answer the bulk of the phone calls that come into a designated team phone queue for Cardiology & Orthopedic patients.

• Understand insurance benefits and inform the patient the reasoning behind their bill if they have questions.

• Take patient payments.

• Escalate issues as necessary.

• Prompt resolution & follow up with patients.

• Strong communication skills.

• Perform other tasks as needed - data entry, printing, mailing, etc.

Education Requirements

Certifications or degrees in medical billing and/or medical coding are preferred.

Experience

One to three years of medical billing and customer service experience.

eClinicalWorks experience preferred

Skills Required

Proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software

Ability to multitask

Above average customer service and phone conversation skills

Extensive knowledge of insurance benefits

Types at least 40 WP

Pay is based on experience.
