Patient Advocates are responsible for all clerical and front desk administration duties, including but not limited to greeting guests, answering telephones, scheduling patients and payment collection.

Description of Primary Responsibilities

  • Patient Advocates are responsible for all clerical and front desk administration duties, including but not limited to greeting guests, answering telephones, scheduling patients and payment collection.
  • Responsible for customer service
  • Responsible for patient check in/check out.
  • Communicate with patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Task and inform the appropriate provider of the communication.
  • Use sound judgment in handling calls, especially with upset patients.
  • Understanding of when to escalate calls to Providers/Regional manager/triage nurse.
  • Service patients, make reminder calls as requested and reschedule appointments when necessary.
  • Maintain orderly and professional work areas.
  • Assist with audits and surveys as directed by Patient Advocate Coordinator.
  • Participate in QA/QI and other meetings as directed.
