Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Patient Registrar is responsible for providing pre-registration, registration, and discharge services for patients in a variety of departments and clinics.
Overall functions include telephone utilization, distribution of faxes, insurance verification, intake packet preparation, and cash collection activities.
Responsible for scanning insurance cards, photo IDs and patient registration forms into Epic as well as scheduling and preregistering follow up appointments for doctors and therapists.
Schedules appointments from follow up notes, scheduling pool and workqueues.
Provides patients with transportation needs such as cab authorization, bus tokens, and parking validation.
Maintains a cooperative working relationship with patients, medical staff and general public. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Preferred Skills:
At least 1 year of hospital front desk
Some knowledge of commercial insurances and medical assistance
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Knowledge of Epic
Spanish speaking preferred, but not required
