LOCATION: Based in our Oak Park clinic and surrounding clinic locations

REPORTS TO: Operations Area Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting patients in check in process, scheduling appointments, and check out processing.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Patient Services Representative (PSR) who would be responsible for greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments and following through with the checkout process. The PSR will also assist with office duties as needed.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet patients
  • Check in patients and assist with individual concerns, as they arise
  • Collect appropriate information including insurance overview, co-pay and deductible assignment and open balances
  • Other tasks, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ CRITICAL SKILLS

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare position preferred - but willing to train the right individual!
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of computers and office equipment
  • Patient-focused with the ability to work independently
  • Capability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment


SCHEDULE:

  • Schedules run from Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM for a total of 35-40 hours of work a week. Daily schedules are typically 4-12/hour shifts.
  • Must be flexible from Monday-Friday with alternating Saturday availability to match the practice hours of operation.

TRAVEL:

  • Local travel is required to locations within your assigned geographic region. This role will be assigned to cover a geographic region however you may be required to occasionally travel outside of your assigned regional area to support the other regional coverage needs of the organization. The role must have reliable transportation and be able to travel, as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical demands to successfully perform the essential functions of this job including but are not limited to: walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, standing, and crouching
  • The employee must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
  • No specific vision requirements
