This role will be responsible for the application and financial auditing of all incoming client and vendor payments including the posting of credit card payments into our accounting system, backup for all cash applications/bank deposits/cash receipts, account reconciliations, write offs, process refunds, Excel reporting, discrepancy reporting, and assisting with monthly statements to auditors. This person must be dependable, have excellent communication skills, mathematical aptitude, strong 10-key skills, and a solid foundation of both intermediate and advanced accounting and finance principles. Internal and external customer service skills are a must and previous cash application, finance or accounting experience is preferred.

Cash Applications Specialist Responsibilities:

• Utilize Cash App TMS to match and apply daily Lockbox, ACH, Wire and credit card payments to customer accounts.
• Utilize our internal TMS to accurately reconcile and consolidate payment batches to ensure proper application and synchronization to our Accounting software.
• Ensure customer remittance data sent to the correct email address and communicate with customers who are not properly submitting remittance details.
• Auditing and adjusting payments when customer credits are taken and communicate these credits to AR Department
• Reconcile remittance data to accurately apply customer and carrier funds.
• Prepare, apply and verify daily cash reports via our bank’s daily audit report.
• Apply customer payments and work with our Receivables team to correctly reconcile and correct previously miss-applied payments.
• Responsible for all Credit Card and Electronic Check payments being applied via .CSV file upload.
• Responsible for processing customer refunds when approved by management and ensure the checks are timely mailed to the correct address.
• Coordinate with AR Dept and Collections routinely.
• Responsible for working on month-end closing procedures and monthly audits.
• Manually scan and process check payments received at our corporate office via Wells Fargo’s Virtual Lockbox.
• Ensure all payments are properly identified, promptly handled and accurately applied.
• Escalate unidentifiable payments to our Receivables or Payables Department to determine correct application.
• Must maintain a minimum 97% accuracy rate within TMS when applying and matching payments details.
• Must perform both Internal and External customer service requirements.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Cash Applications Specialist requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and/or corporate cash application.
• Knowledge of large ERP systems – Wells Fargo CEO, Billtrust, Quickbooks, Netsuite, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong Analytical skills and Attention to Detail
• Excellent Problem-solving skills
• Strong MS office knowledge – including MS Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUP
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high-level accuracy
• Must have exceptional time management and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
