What does a School Nurse at Prospect Hill do? The school nurse enhances the education program at Prospect Hill Academy by maximizing student health and wellness. This is an immediate opening. Flexible schedule available.
Primary responsibilities:
- Administer first aid and care to ill or injured students.
- Use SNAP software to produce comprehensive and timely documentation of all nursing interventions (following each student visit).
- Maintain up-to-date and cumulative health records for all students.
- Monitor student immunizations (as required by law).
- Conduct Child Find screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and perform follow ups as needed.
- Complete student injury reports (as needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked health office.
- Assist families in identifying appropriate community health resources.
- Inform building Principal and Director of Student Services of any health related issues or problems.
- Identify students showing signs of abuse or neglect to administration and to the Department of Social Services, as required by law and in accordance with PHA policies/procedures.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing education (CPR, First Aide, etc.) and maintenance of nursing credentials.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience (community health care preferred)
- Appropriate licensure and certification (RN preferred)
- Experience working in a diverse community.
- Access to reliable transportation and a willingness to travel between campuses.
- Flexibility, attention to detail and strong written/oral communication skills
