Pet Grooming Teacher/Trainer

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Pet Grooming Teacher/Trainer to join our team at our New Sydnee's Pet Grooming Academy. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and sharing their knowledge and skills with students who are looking to pursue a career in pet grooming. The Pet Grooming Teacher/Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering curriculum and providing hands-on training to students on a variety of pet grooming techniques, including bathing, clipping, scissoring, and styling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver course materials that cover a range of pet grooming techniques, including breed-specific grooming standards, equipment use, and safety precautions.
• Teach students the proper handling techniques for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, and other small animals.
• Provide students with hands-on training in a simulated pet grooming environment, allowing them to practice and refine their skills.
• Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and coaching as needed to ensure mastery of grooming techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment, ensuring that all equipment and materials are properly maintained and used.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a professional pet groomer, with experience grooming a variety of breeds and species.
• A passion for teaching and sharing knowledge and skills with others.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students with varying levels of experience.
• A strong understanding of pet grooming techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
• A high level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to develop and deliver comprehensive course materials.
• A commitment to maintaining a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification from a reputable pet grooming school preferred.
• Teaching certification or equivalent experience in a teaching or training role preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to demonstrate grooming techniques on live animals.

Working Conditions:

• Work is typically performed in a classroom and pet grooming environment.
• May require some evening and weekend hours to accommodate student schedules.
• May require occasional travel to attend industry conferences or events.
