POSITION SUMMARY
The Dog Care Attendant position contributes to the health and wellbeing of our dogs and guests by ensuring that they are kept in a clean and safe environment, and are given the proper attention according to Canine to Five’s protocol.

The Dog Care Attendant supports and assists the team with daily tasks, the care and well being of all dogs.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with all dog breeds and sizes, task-oriented, capable of working independently in a loud, fast-paced environment and cares for organization and overall cleanliness.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

● Ability to Lift 50 lbs.
● At least 18 years of age or older
● Natural love for dogs
● Passionate about caring for dogs
● Sense of urgency, initiative, responsiveness, and attention to detail
● Availability to work 3-5 shifts a week and weekends
● Ability to stand throughout an entire shift typically lasting 5-8 hours or longer
● Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment that requires bending, squatting, brisk walking or running, repeated pulling, grabbing, pushing using hands and arms

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for the dogs, including cleaning and disposing of pet waste properly

2. Perform hourly walk throughs of dogs in boarding to ensure dogs are kept in a clean environment
3. Record health and safety concerns about dogs and communicate to supervisor/mgr as needed
4. Able to move dogs to throughout the building safely, efficiently and quickly
5. Refill water bowls/buckets as needed
6. Prep add-on enrichment items (Kongs, Power bowls, etc)
7. Complete boarding services including potty breaks and 1:1 sessions as needed
8. Monitor building security throughout shift and report any concerns to on call manager ASAP
9. Filling mop/scoop buckets/trash cans throughout the facility
10. Setting up location for daily use with mop buckets/scoops, trash cans, fresh mop heads, slip leads, pens etc
11. Wash dirty dishes, toys and the like
12. Clean kennels, beds, structures as assigned
13. Wash/dry/fold laundry (ensure lint trap is changed)
14. Organize sections of the facility such as shelving units, tables, stock areas etc
15. Put stock away in appropriate stock rooms/cabinets
16. Replenish chemicals, cleaning supplies, paper products in appropriate areas through the facility
17. Dust/clean/sanitize shelving units/filing cabinets/surfaces and the like throughout facility
18. Vacuum/clean/sanitize outdoor play yards including turf area and cement/asphalt areas. Including inner white fencing/chain link fencing and intakes
19. Assist pack leaders, boarding, supervisors and managers in the care of the dogs and all duties as assigned
20. All other duties as assigned to achieve desired corporate objectives
