We are a small oncology-focused outpatient imaging facility with a positive work environment. We are growing and are looking for a new team member to join us and continue our goal of delivering high-quality, efficient, and compassionate patient-centered care. We are looking for a PET technologist who can competently perform standard PET/CT imaging procedures independently and produce quality studies.

Pay Rate: Dependent on candidate’s experience.

Education Requirements:

Diploma or certificate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.

Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine is preferred, but not required.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

ARRT-NRegistered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist

NMTCB-Registered Technologist with Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.

ARRT-CTRegistered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Preferred but not required)

BLS- Current Basic Life Support

State of Nevada Radiology License

Responsibilities:

  • Under medical supervision, technologists will perform a variety of PET/CT procedures on adult patients. Candidates will be trained in these PET/CT imaging procedures if they are unfamiliar with them. Procedures include but are not limited to FDG PET/CT, Pylarify (PSMA) prostate cancer PET/CT, and Cu-64 Copper Dotatate PET/CT.
  • Prepares diagnostic radiopharmaceutical for administration and follows current radiation safety guidelines.
  • Obtain patient history, thoroughly explain procedures to patients and address any concerns they might have regarding their imaging procedures.
  • The PET/CT Technologist will follow state and federal guidelines for the safe use, receipt, and disposal of radioactive materials used in the department.
  • The PET/CT Technologist may be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the training of students, house staff and procedures, protocols, equipment, and safety issues.

•Participates in both clinical and research applications and research study development.

  • Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients.
  • Cleans and organizes the department on own initiative, maintains cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Evaluates acquired images for technical quality.
  • Completes daily QC calibrations on instruments and reviews calibration data to detect trends indicating instrument malfunction.
  • Performs a full range of PET/CT imaging techniques and measurements used in medical diagnosis and evaluation.
  • Performs general work when able and helps with schedules, work assignments and ancillary needs.
  • Prepares and maintains meticulous records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, administration, and disposal activities.
  • Practices ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) Goals
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge of radiation accidents and can respond to a major accident.

Physical Requirements:

Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.

Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly with patients in person and over the telephone.

Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted. Requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
