JOB TITLE:
Instructional Professor, Assistant
JOB PURPOSE:
The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a full-time Assistant Instructional Professor position, with specialty in Production and Completion Engineering, beginning Fall 2023. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefitted position at the University of Wyoming campus.
The selected candidate will join a successful and well-established program with access to excellent facilities and resources. The selected candidate will have an excellent opportunity to collaborate with other faculty, research staff and industry partners, as well as with government and regulatory agencies.
The
Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering
consists of a diverse and inclusive group of 15 faculty and approximately 110 students. We offer ABET-accredited B.S. programs in Petroleum Engineering. The Department also offers graduate programs in Energy and Petroleum Engineering at the Masters and Ph.D. levels
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates are sought with expertise in Completion and Drilling Engineering. The duties of the position are:
Teach undergraduate courses in Petroleum Engineering, typically three courses per semester.
Perform service to the Department, College as required.
The percentage of the teaching, research and service work will be determined according to the needs of the Department and may vary from one to another year.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, from an accredited US institution,
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills,
Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate and graduate Petroleum Engineering courses at the university level
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated experience teaching in Production and Completion courses
Professional work experience in Production and Completion engineering
Familiarity with software tools commonly used in Drilling and Completion engineering, and
Ability and desire to develop additional courses related to Production and Completion and develop the current labs in this area.
Flexibility in teaching other related courses as required by the Department.
