Description: The Dispensing Pharmacist Registered Pharmacist who is responsible for the accurate and timely dispensing of prescribed medication to patients. The Dispensing Pharmacist work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities: The Dispensing Pharmacist ensures adherence to quality assurance standards, accurate tracking techniques and a review process prior to shipping medications to patients. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

In this role you will:

• Oversee items that are filled by a pharmacy technician to validate they were filled correctly.
• Review items filled by automation in order to make sure the automation is filling accurately.
• Verify containers used to fill automation to validate correct drug, no desiccants, no stray tablets, and no broken tablets.
• Process returns to stock in various areas and verify the product is correct and undamaged.
• Work in the control room filling, verifying items picked by technician or pharmacist, and ensuring the order is packed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Licensed as a PHARMACIST in state of Arizona
• Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs
• 2 or more years’ experience in a high-volume community, retail or mail order pharmacy practice environment
• Proficient with computers

Physical Requirements:

• Pharmacist must be able to tolerate, handle, and work around all pharmaceutical products throughout worktime
• Pharmacist must have dexterity to continuously twist and grasp items throughout worktime
• Pharmacist must be able to stand 50-100% of worktime, lift up to 30lbs as needed, frequently reach, bend, stoop, and squat throughout worktime
• Pharmacists are solely responsible for processing and verifying

This is not a Work at Home role; candidates must reside in Phoenix or within a commutable distance.
