Wood Dale Pharmacy is looking for hard working individuals to help compound customized medications for animal patients in our state of the art pharmaceutical laboratory. Must be good with mathematics, calculations and customer service.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating medications for animal patients to make medicine time easy and stress free. When our pets need prescription medications, a lot of the times, we have to get creative to give them their pills. This can mean tricking them with treats or hiding the pills in pill pockets or cheese etc. Wood Dale Pharmacy specializes in creating the exact prescription ordered by the veterinarian in a form that makes it easy to give the medication to our pet patient. We have delicious flavors such as Chicken, Beef, Bacon, Fish etc. and these flavors can be added to all types of medicine forms such as capsules, tablets chewable treats and liquids.
Pharmaceutical compounding is a skill based on art and science. If you enjoy being in a laboratory setting and are keen on being precise and accurate, this is the position for you. Previous experience in compounding is not necessary to apply for this position but if you have a background in pharmacy, it will be helpful. We prefer that you have taken a course on being a pharmacy technician and are PTCB or ExCPT certified. We have a robust training program where you will be taught pharmaceutical compounding. The training program takes 3 to 6 months to complete and by the end, you will know how to make capsules, suspensions and solutions, chewable treats, topicals such as creams, ointments and gels and many more.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
