Job Title: Physical Education Teacher

Location: Raymond Central Elementary at Ceresco and Valparaiso

Reports To: Building Principal

Work Schedule/FLSA Status: Per negotiated agreement / Exempt

Raymond Central Public School is seeking a highly qualified Physical Education Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. We are a progressive Class C1 school district located 8 miles north of Lincoln, NE.

Required qualifications: certified or ability to be certified as a physical education teacher.

Raymond Central offers an extremely competitive salary and benefits. As outlined in applicable negotiated agreement, 2023-2024 Base Salary Step 1 is $40,000 with a compressed front end resulting in salary of $43,200 in years 1-3. Full insurance premiums paid by district with 2 insurance options available-one with HSA. Single dental is paid for by the district. We also accept all years of service.

Requirements:

• Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university
• A valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with endorsement in Physical Education
• Successful teaching and/or practice teaching experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional leadership skills
• Exhibit skills pertinent to foster positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community

Essential Functions:

• Reports to work as scheduled on a punctual and reliable basis.
• Maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Exhibits skills pertinent to foster positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community.
• Utilizes a variety of positive supports for the students in their physical and social development.
• Remains current about best practices in the physical education field.
• Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job related knowledge and skill development.
• Works collaboratively to achieve the overall purpose of the school’s program and support the District’s vision, aims and goals.
• Willingness to fill coaching role(s). Current openings include: Asst Softball, Head Boys/Girls Track, Asst Volleyball, and various junior high openings
