The primary role of the Strength and Condition Coach is to provide athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition, models sportsmanship and effective life skills and promotes the development of appreciation and enjoyment of the sport.

Do I want to do this job? You will be working in clinic and onsite at a local high school. You will wear DMOS - Engineered Performance branded (and provided) clothing. You will conduct coaching in a kind, encouraging and consistent method when working with athletes, patients and clinical professionals. You will have team members around you. You will have conversations with strangers who may be striving for growth. You may gather information accurately and quickly about athletes and patients about their goals, history, and situation. You are understanding that they may not always be pleasant, however, they are very grateful. You will be responsible to represent DMOS - Engineered Performance in the field. You will work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful. You can work the hours for this position which include Monday thru Friday 10AM - 6PM.

Can I do this job? You must be able to be on your feet and standing for this job. You must be able to help patients on and off a table. You must be steady on your feet. You have great communication and documentation skills. You can think on your feet. You have to be able to use your indoor voice at times. You are able to be curious in conversations and practice active listening with compassion and empathy because we aren't in that persons shoes.

What does an outstanding PTA/Strength and Conditioning Coach have in terms of background? Successful candidates in clinic may have had experience in a medical facility working with patients and/or athletes. Previous coaching experience. A bachelor's degree. A strength and conditioning certification such as National Strength and Conditioning Association-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) or USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach (USAW-L1SP). An active license to practice in the state of Iowa as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
