Health Care Provider (HCP) - Emergency Room and/or Primary Care Physician

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Health Care Providers (HCPs) to join Cass Lake Indian Hospital in providing non-personal professional physician services for the Emergency Room (ER) and/or primary care clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and treating diseases/injuries, performing medical procedures, and providing emergency medical care to patients in various situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat diseases/injuries, and perform medical procedures in various areas such as the skin, head, eyes, ears, nose, throat, neck, and more.
• Provide initial emergency medical care to life-threatening situations and complete necessary procedures and tasks.
• Examine all presenting patients for emergency medical care and provide immediate evaluation and management.
• Provide definitive medical care to reduce the emergency situation and enable the patient to safely continue care as an outpatient with follow-up care as required.
• Respond to “Code Blue” medical emergency alerts within the hospital and provide resuscitation treatment.
• Prepare appropriate narrative summaries and patient profile changes, and maintain medical records in accordance with established procedures.
• Use an electronic medical record system for keeping records, ordering ancillary procedures, medications, and other required patient record functions.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required by the organization.
• Provide patient referrals to outside practitioners only after providing notification to the hospital staff.
• Complete all documentation of care provided in the computer programs for which training is provided.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of two years experience as a practicing provider in the last three years (residency time counts as practicing experience).
• Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) capable of treating all ages of patients.
• Possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Family Practice/Primary care providers, and the following additional requirements for Emergency Room Providers - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certificate, and Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number.
• Board eligible or board certified.
• Completion of a nationally recognized postgraduate training program in Emergency Medicine or completion of at least 2 years of a nationally recognized primary care specialty postgraduate training program (FP, Emergency Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/Gyn., General Surgery) or one year of recognized postgraduate training in a general primary care specialty WITH board certification in Emergency Medicine for Emergency Room Providers.
• Graduate from an accredited educational college or university and licensed in good standing in a state, Puerto Rico, or the District of Columbia.

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour
