Job Description

Under the direction of the Medical Director, the incumbent will serve as the healthcare provider for patients including but not limited to: occupational injuries, acute illness, and providing primary care and preventative health maintenance across the lifespan. Functions as part of the Kinross clinic team. Completes patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans under the authority of the Medical Director. Must be able to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive healthcare services while continuously aligning with daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Job Responsibilities

1. Develop and keep an open and productive relationship with the Medical Director under whose supervision the PA will work.
2. Perform appropriate patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans and goals for patients to promote an optimal state of wellness.
3. Treat minor injuries including but not limited to: performing application of sutures, splints or casts.
4. Ordering appropriate diagnostic testing including but not limited to: imaging, laboratory testing and interpreting results appropriately
5. Recording progress notes and providing individualized patient education.
6. Maintain up to date licensure and certifications.
7. Maintain the confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA standards and guidelines.
8. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
9. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
10. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
11. Consistently exercises discretion and prudent judgment in job performance.
12. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
13. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
14. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

• Masters of Science from an accredited school for Physicians Assistants or Masters of Science in Nursing from accredited University.
• Unencumbered Medical licensure for the State of Nevada with unrestricted NPI and board certifies
• Minimum of two years of practice as a healthcare provider preferred.
• All applicable Nevada State licensing and/or certifications.
• General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations and occupational health risks preferred.
• Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software

• Able to appropriately diagnose patients and develop plan of care for treatment using sound judgement
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to function in a collaborative team
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of the clinic team.
• Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
• Must be 21 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
• Requires valid driver’s license.
  

Reporting Relationships

• Typically reports to the Medical Director and Human Resources
