Responsibilities:

This candidate is the highest on-site official, responsible for overall cost, efficiency, cost management, quality, safety, environmental compliance, customer satisfaction, organizational design, work system improvement, and workplace culture development of the facility. Includes the management of all production and support functions: printing, sealing, master planning, scheduling, maintenance, plate making, shipping and warehouse. Responsible for location financial and capital planning, control of conversion costs to achieve profit objectives, establishment of plan staffing requirements, inventory control and plant purchasing. Also responsible for implementing a positive employee relations climate, and the establishment of location policies and procedures in conformance with corporate strategy and objectives.


Specific Job Activities:

  • Drive safety culture to ensure all location safety and health rules, regulations and environmental standards are followed.
  • Provide leadership that supports the workplace culture improvement process throughout the hourly and salaried workforce and coordinate changes in methods and procedures to improve profitability and operational performance. Work “on the process” as well as “in the process” to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Waste, Throughput and Earnings.
  • Develop and implement systems and framework through which all employees work, make business decisions, and deliver business results.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure business goals are met.
  • Continually evaluate portfolio for cost improvement.
  • Develop annual operating plan and capital spending plan with financial justifications. Maintain annual plant spending within approved plan level.
  • Coordinate activities between outside sales and service engineers, customers, inside sales service scheduling, manufacturing and shipping to ensure maximum plant effectiveness and efficient order processing to meet customer requirements and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Order raw materials to support annual operating plan. Provide employees to support production volume.
  • Oversee the evaluation, training and development of all location employees to enhance career goals, retention, and succession planning and performance improvement.
  • Ensure effective implementation and on-going compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and Safe Quality Foods(SQF)
Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in engineering or technical related field
  • 10+ total years of experience in Leadership roles within a manufacturing environment including: Direct first-line leadership responsibility for hourly teams and Management of a Lead Team
  • Experience in packaging or printing industry preferred
  • Organizational design, LEAN and Business planning skills
  • Experience both leading and participating in Lean/CI events
  • Communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Employee relations experience
  • Environmental, Health and Safety experience
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to motivate, train and delegate responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent
  • Ability to lead, build consensus and work within a team environment experience initiating and managing change

Located 35 south west of Chicago, Frankfort is a village in Will County, Illinois, with a small portion in Cook County. The population was 17,782 at the 2010 census, up from 10,391 in 2000. According to Forbes.com, in 2007 the village ranked as the 36th fastest growing suburb in the United States.

The plant was built in 1965, manufactures food service and food packaging products (custom and stock foam), and has approximately 300 employees.
