Play Expert - Museum Support Staff Job at The Children's Museum of Southern Oregon

Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Greet potential patrons with a friendly and welcoming manner
- Check guest in, assist with membership applications, and data entry
- Ensure that the museum exhibits are tidied and well kept
- Report any incidents or broken exhibits using the proper forms
- Clean exhibits and facilities with light janitorial means
- Oversee safe play and behaviors in the museum for guests
- Hand out daily information to guests
- Stay up to date on the daily activities that occur and the programs of the day
- Package/shipping intake. Informing correct divisions of where their packages are
- Compile lost and found things and clear out lost and found monthly
- Follow a shift duty schedule
- Take out trashes daily
- Participate in special events and occasions that might be beyond the normal scope
- Step into an educator role while running or assisting museum programming
- Attend monthly all-staff meetings
Preferred Education/Experience:
Customer service, ability to operate in a professional environment, and proficient computer skills highly preferred.
Working Conditions/Equipment:
Ability to sit for long periods of time at a front desk reception area, ability to stand for long periods of time on Museum floor, with occasional need to lift up to 20lbs picking up various small materials (toys, playthings, etc…)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
