Portfolio Accountant Job at Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation
Our Finance Team is looking for an accountant that is energized about the mission of the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation. This position reports to the Senior Accountant – Public Equities and performs a variety of general accounting and data management functions. While this position is ideal for a recent college graduate, as no formal experience is required and training will be provided, candidates with accounting tech or other accounting experience are encouraged to apply.

Principal Responsibilities
General Accounting Functions
- Reviews and reconciles accounting records for the APFC’s public market assets
- Reviews account reconciliations between the custodian and investment managers
- Retrieves account data from Custodian web site, organizes data, and prepares accompanying reports
- Assists in the wire transfer process, including initiating or authorizing wire transfers
- Assists with preparation of year-end audit and annual report
Accounts Payable
- Reviews invoices and ensures proper approval prior to payment
- Manages accounts payable payments processing and tracks checking account balance
- Serves as back-up for accounts payable invoice entry
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting
- Adept in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Effective written and oral communication skills
