Postdoctoral Fellow - Health Disparities Research Job at MD Anderson Cancer Center
The postdoctoral scholar will primarily work with Dr. Qian Lu. On-going projects in the Lu lab include psychosocial interventions (expressive writing, social support, video, and written narrative messages), cancer survivorship, HPV vaccination, community based participatory research, cultural and biopsychosocial determinants of health (social support, emotion regulation, stress biomarkers) and health disparities research. Our recently completed studies include psychosocial interventions among Chinese breast cancer survivors, biopsychosocial factors influencing adjustment, cross-culture comparisons between Caucasian and Asian cancer survivors on adjustment, and validation of questionnaires.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Work on NIH-funded projects to develop and test culturally sensitive psychosocial interventions (expressive writing intervention and peer mentoring/social support intervention) to improve the quality of life among Chinese immigrant cancer survivors.
Contribute to the scientific aspects of the study, such as refining study design and materials, managing data, and assisting with project management.
In coordination with the principal investigator, conduct secondary data analyses and lead the research team in writing manuscripts.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates with a doctorate who are well trained in psychology, public health, or health or other behavioral science are welcome.
It is desirable that candidates are bilingual (English and Chinese).
