Thermal/Chemical battery subject matter expert Engineer to support design, development, manufacturing, and production of batteries for use in Defense Industry products including but not limited to man-portable devices, missile systems, sensor systems, and satellites.
The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support across multiple programs and business areas of Lockheed Martin, working with internal Engineers and suppliers to develop battery architecture and requirements. The candidate will provide oversight and technical input into testing and manufacturing of batteries and assist in failure investigations.
The candidate will support across multiple programs, traveling to supplier and manufacturing locations to provide on-site support of testing, reviews, and failure investigations.

Clearance Level: Secret with an investigation within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Engineering management or Engineering team lead experience including task planning, budget
- Process Improvement and Affordability experience
- Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems/programs
- Battery design and development experience
- MS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Prior Engineering Management Experience
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Proposal Development Experience; Basis of Estimate (BOE) Development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-Starter Personality and ability to multitask
- Strong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinking
- Product/technology roadmap development
