Job Overview:

The Principal Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, optimizing, costing, sizing, and simulating of sub-system components heat exchangers and pressure vessels, e.g. for Carbon America’s technologies. The Mechanical Engineer will have knowledge of heat exchangers, valves, piping which ones to use for a given application, and how to optimize them to reduce costs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Required

  • 6+ years of experience in a related field
  • CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) expertise
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to track lots of disparate details
  • BS in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical preferred)
  • Metal fabrication experience
  • Knowledge of Codes/Standards: ASME BPVC, TEMA, API, PIP, NACE B31.1, B31.3, B16.5, B16.47
  • Mastery of basic/fundamental mechanical calculations
  • Software: HTRI, Compress

Preferred

  • Static/Fixed equipment 3 years min.
  • Heat Exchangers 5 years min.
  • Metal fabrication 3 years min.
  • ASME 3 years min.
  • TEMA 5 years min.

Desired experience:

  • Compress/PVElite 3 years min.
  • HTRI 3 years min.
  • API 3 years min.

General Requirements and Job Details:

  • Must be able to work at a computer for at least eight hours per day
  • Must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • This position is based out of our Arvada, Colorado offices
  • This is a Monday through Friday, Full-Time, Exempt position with a salary range of $115,000 to $130,000
