Georgia-Pacific is seeking a highly driven individual committed to improving operational efficiency as a Process Engineer within the Optimization Team at our Leaf River Cellulose facility in New Augusta, MS. The selected individual will champion ideas of automation, advanced controls, new technologies, and removing bottlenecks to improve the safety, environmental compliance, and competitive cost position of the mill.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Provide operations with guidance on technical and process related topics
• Serve as a highly committed contributor and role model within the AMT (Accelerated Manufacturing Transformation) work process
• Drive sustainability and advancements of advanced process controls and process control loop utilization
• Identify opportunities that can improve mill cash cost and work with various mill teams to execute improvements
• Identify, support, and advance capital projects that move the facility towards its full potential

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in chemical engineering
• Experience in a process engineering or mill optimization type role

What Will Put You Ahead

• Technical knowledge of a pulp/paper mill operations (liquor cycle, pulping, bleaching, drying)
• Experience in the implementation and sustainability of improvement opportunities within a manufacturing facility
