Process Engineer
Hendrick Motorsports is seeking a highly driven and creative individual to join our team in Concord, NC. In this role you will be a member of the Operational Excellence Team responsible for participating in, and leading as required, cross-functional teams to address key business problems. You will apply appropriate lean manufacturing, six sigma and quality management methodologies towards process improvement, problem solving and process development. You will serve as a liaison between quality, manufacturing, vehicle production, engineering and purchasing to promote and facilitate the achievement of defined business objectives related to flow, cost, quality and performance.
This role is situated within the Operational Excellence team, reporting directly to the Manager of Operational Excellence. Duties are most effectively executed in-person, and therefore this role is not a use-case for remote work.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Process Engineer identifies and implements innovations into our processes realizing positive impacts to performance results, improving efficiency and assisting the organization in achieving its standards for excellence.

  • Analyze, assess, and deliver expert recommendations for improving or simplifying operational or business processes
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts (SME’s), process owners, and key stakeholders to ensure specialized processes/tasks are appropriately defined to achieve desired quality
  • Develop qualitative and quantitative methods for measuring the impact of process improvements
  • Engage teams as a change agent to help foster a continuous improvement culture and execute meaningful problem-solving activities
  • Lead/Oversee the feature development, integrations and implementation of our suite of software applications in support of the end-user and their unique needs
  • Manage supplier performance and response to non-conformances
  • Work with each functional group to define processes for accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility and efficiency.
  • Develop and revise technical documentation including standard work instructions, job aids, technical bulletins and other technical publications, both written and electronic.
  • Establish a strong feedback loop with SME’s and internal audiences to continuously improve deliverables
  • Conduct regular process reviews to ensure established processes are able to be executed as defined and deliver their intended results
  • Provide documentation management and control in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, where applicable

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or other relevant discipline) required
  • 5+ years of manufacturing/production environment experience desired. Racing experience strongly preferred.
  • Systems and process flow familiarity in vehicle production
  • High level of technical understanding of vehicle assembly, fabrication and component prep
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter
  • Ability to check all technical materials for consistency and accuracy
  • Excellent skills in Excel, Word and Visio
