The Procurement Associate is responsible for maintaining the materials, supplies and equipment for Montgomery County District Court. The incumbent oversees and coordinates the procurement, stocking, and ordering of materials, supplies, and equipment. Keeps records of all inventory functions. Distributes all materials, supplies, and equipment. Responds to inquiries from court personnel concerning materials, supplies, and equipment. Order using GEARS, working with vendors for quotes and bids for projects. Troubleshoot basic computer issues.

Education: High School diploma (or GED equivalent).

Experience: Two (2) years of fiscal work experience, such as procurement, receiving, storing, and issuing of supplies, materials, and equipment


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the State of Maryland and the District Court rules, regulations and procedures for procurement and inventory procedures.
  • Knowledge of inventory controls and storage procedures.
  • Knowledge of modern office equipment and machines; ability to use personal computer and various software programs to prepare correspondence and track inventory.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records and reports.
  • Ability to comprehend and carry out complex instructions.
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication.
  • Skilled in attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within time constraints and meet fixed deadlines.
  • Ability to interact and communicate clearly and effectively with management, judges, co-workers, technicians, vendors, contractors, other state agencies and various representatives from Judiciary.
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware and software and ability to discuss technical terminology.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, self-manage, and handle fluctuating assignments.
  • Ability to lift and move large and cumbersome objects.
  • Ability to perform all the essential functions of the position.
