REHAU Industries LLC, a leading component supplier to the woodworking industry, is seeking an experienced Production Engineer. The successful individual will be responsible for leading a dedicated team in our Sturgis, MI location. Onsite responsibilities include direct supervision of employees within the furniture components fabrication team, maintaining established quality levels/lead times and meeting production targets for costs. The Production Engineer is responsible for all raw materials incoming and finished good outgoing.

• Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor required.
• Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.
• Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and that also minimize the carbon footprint.
• Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production, and sharing knowledge with co-workers.
• Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices.
• Drawing up production schedules and budgets for projects.
• Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.
• Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.
• Obtaining any materials and equipment required.
• Full onsite technical responsibility for FC production cell.
• Schedule daily duties of production crews and oversee the preparation and production of materials to meet daily/weekly order
• Track and maintain daily production records including units per person-hour
• Perform verification of production output according to specifications before staging for distribution
• Serve as liaison between the production departments and the sales department to troubleshoot missing product and/or research problem orders
• Interview, hire and onboard additional staff as needed
• Evaluate, coach and/or discipline staff as required
• Train new staff and existing staff as required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
• 2+ years experience in engineer wood manufacturing including experience with panel saw, CNC, and edge bander is preferred
• 2+ years experience in supervision or management of direct reports is preferred
• Profound experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
• Strong organizational and leadership skills٫ together with a results-driven approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and an efficient problem solver
• Assertiveness and ability to make difficult decisions
• Good practical experience with MS Office
