About Us

Are you looking for full time employment? Do you have a mechanical aptitude? Due to retirements and continued growth, Merrill’s Packaging is seeking machine operators for our plastic thermoforming manufacturing business. We have been in business over 60 years in Burlingame California providing packaging for the medical, food, electronic and horticulture industries. As a valued member of our production team, you will interface with our designers, toolmakers, production schedulers and the quality team while meeting the needs of our customers. Hiring bonus of $1,000 will be paid after your first 180 days!

Duties and Responsibilities Include

· Embrace a “Safety First” culture

· Support ISO 13485, GMP, green certification and 5-S programs

· Read and understand work instructions

· Use various hand tools and lifting devices to install tooling and material during set up

· Become proficient in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measure

· Have basic knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings

· Review job packets to determine material type and other job specific information

· Input job specific information by keyboard, touch screen and physical valve adjustments

· Set up and operation of the machine per work instructions and on the job training

· Documentation of work completed as required by work instructions

· Assist in troubleshooting to determine root cause of discrepancies

· Monitor and make adjustments as required to achieve and maintain product quality

· Maintain organized storage of tools not in use

· Ability to work well in small teams

Qualifications

· Good communication, mechanical, math and organizational skills

· High School graduate or equivalent (Preferred)

· Classes or experience in manufacturing, construction or mechanical trade a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
