About the Job

This position will have a daily impact on operations and customer satisfaction affecting growth opportunities for the company, the team and the individual. This position prepares daily production schedules for the wood plant operations while maintaining the inventory controls to support those production schedules. This position will also support operations in other disciplines related to quality control, purchasing and production reporting as needed. This position will report directly to the Purchasing and Production Control Manager.

Required Skills and Experience

• Excellent computer skills using manufacturing operations system(s) supported by Windows Office environment.
• Must be capable and comfortable communicating in various forms both externally with suppliers and internally with customers.
• Service-minded, executing duties with a high degree of attention and accuracy.
• Primary focus is on scheduling production and controlling inventory transactions to support those plans.
• Prepare production schedules – from availability of materials, labor and/or machine capacities, culminating in audits of processed work orders to validate transactions.

- Works with production supervisors to expedite or change orders as
needed.

• Assist inventory controls disciplines through use of MRP, EOQ, Kanban, visual management, and cycle counting of WIP stores or finished goods to evaluate system effectiveness though use of ABC inventory analysis (e.g. Pareto analysis)
• Secondary focus of purchasing raw materials and supplies to support operations. This will involve expediting and supplier evaluation to seek and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned that supports company initiatives and/or production. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change as needed. Ability to pivot quickly is expected.

Physical requirements:

This position will perform duties that require extended periods of sitting to perform data entry duties coupled with occasional requirements of standing, walking and carrying office supply materials. Lifting requirements are a maximum of 40 lbs.
