Job Description

This position is responsible for the coordination of commodity materials and coordiniate these items throughout the plant processes and production lines. This position will also be responsible for scheduling daily processing and will ensure written specifications are followed. This position will report to the plant superintendent.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for directing personnel to blend products, produce in house ingredients and manage material flow and cleaning for tanks.

2. Schedule daily processing and ensure written specifications are adhered to.

3. Ensure the appropriate products are ready to be produced by Production personnel.

4. Track all usage and loss by monitoring production against what is utilized.

5. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements

6. Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations and policies

7. Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to position.

8. Works closely with schedulers, production and lab personnel to ensure efficient operation.

9. Create and maintain logs for all commodity ingredients versus finished production

10. Issue (for all required product) and maintain the batch sheets and file batch sheets accordingly

11. Assist in recall documentation and the recall process.

12. Responsible for continuous improvement with respects to processing

13. Plant coordinator for new products

14. Assist the scheduler in determining the most efficient method when producing products.

15. Maintain item set up forms for DSM locations

16. All other duties as assigned by the position's direct Supervisor

Qualifications

Education: Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.

Related Experience: Three to five years in Operations, Accounting or Materials experience in food packaging is preferred.

Equipment/Software Skills: Must be PC literate with working knowledge of MS Office, and Outlook; production planning software would be considered a plus.

Additional Information

Physical: Sitting/Walking/Climbing as required in a manufacturing environment.

Sensory: Good Listening Skills; Public speaking abilities to communicate with both hourly and salaried personnel.

Mental/Reasoning: Must be able to analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures.
