Job Title: Production Supervisor Department: Conditioning
Reports to: Sr. Production Manager Classification: Exempt
Job Summary
Provide leadership and support to ensure Conditioning department meets plan build schedule. Ensure effective and efficient operational performance with regard to areas assigned. Establish and implement programs (with support of Sr. Production Manager) to meet operational targets related to productivity, lean, cost, quality, safety and housekeeping, delivery schedules, through-put, process improvements, team and employee development.
Job Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed production and delivery schedules, budgets, and targets.
- Direct and promote a work environment of continuous improvement through proactive process improvement.
- Promote a team environment through effective communication and delegation.
- Proactively engage the support of indirect support personnel to achieve departmental and business objectives.
- To foster an environment of learning through effective cross training of assigned employees.
- Expected to develop and maintain required relationships with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Human resources, Engineering, Production Control, Shipping, and other areas as required meeting targeted business goals and objectives. Maintain an effective relationship with Purchasing to affect positive supplies/vendor relationships.

Execute to daily, weekly, monthly, schedule/ plan/ schedule attainment- Meet daily cell goals (5s, Safety, Quality, Maintain, hourly production boards)
- Daily start up checks
- Daily Departmental KPI’s
- 70% time on the production floor
- Departmental communication
- Cell communication process/toolbox/ shift changeover reports/handoffs/ensure smooth transition
- Cycle counts
- Inventory accuracy/adjustments
- Impulse management
- IPQ cell scrap reporting/Scrap back parts when necessary
- 5 why’s and Prompt Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
- Implement all aspects of AGCO Lean and Quality Management systems.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Conduct 7 am stand up meetings
- Promote employee suggestions and employee recognition programs
Safety Responsibilities
Supervisors are responsible for their individual compliance with safety rules and procedures.
Supervisors are also responsible for assuring that employees perform their duties in a safe manner by following the specified safety rules and procedures. Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Comply with all safety rules, policies and procedures.
- Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective PPE.
- Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage.
- Participation in the site Safety and Health Program.
- Facilitate the monthly safety walk in the department
- Lead and investigate 5S+1 audits (weekly)
- Promote the use of “Hats” tag program
- Ensuring that employees attend required training as assigned and Tool Box Safety Training.
- Encourage conformance with safety rules and procedures and intercede when violations of rules and/or procedures are identified.
- Take immediate action on any safety audit item / issue.
- Ensure all safety equipment and PPE are provided, adequate, and operable.
- Schedule incident investigations and corrective action development and implementation per
AGCO incident Investigation Program.
- Address near-miss incidents when identified.
- Participate in safety audits and assessments and take corrective action when necessary.
- Report all near-misses, accidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment and property damage.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Education
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience in addition to a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leader and excellent communicator
- 2+ years of progressively responsible or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid grasp of manufacturing concepts, methods, and manufacturing techniques to include but not limited to: Assembly, welding, machining, painting, and other related manufacturing methods.
- Prior experience in lean, flow-through manufacturing a plus.
- Knowledge in use of SAP or other related ERP application software preferred.
- Basic understanding of production planning and production control functions.
- Exceptional influencing and communication skills with ability to communicate at all management levels.
- Demonstrated ability to think conceptually with a real commitment to change and continuous improvement.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to develop improved manufacturing strategies that will support AGCO business objectives on a departmental and building wide basis.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for leading, developing, coaching, and mentoring a functional team of 30 to 40 plant hourly associates. Leads and inspires cross-training and development of associates and workforce effectiveness.
Work Environment
This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is also exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the work environment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms.
