Under the direction the Plant Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor oversees the production, and shipping areas of the plant. Monitors production for efficiency, quality, and safety, ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are met/followed. Develops production schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers.

Accountabilities**

• Responsible for the planning and implementation of all safety policies and procedures established for the production and shipping areas.
• Prioritizes food quality and maintains food safety, through the vigilant application of company GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Communicates with the Plant Manager, Operation’s Manager Cost Accountant, Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Harvest, and Sanitation Supervisors to achieve overall business goals.
• Helps to implement assigned SRMP sections and ensure compliance within the assigned elements.
• Manage plant production, streamline production processes, and increase efficiency.
• Manage production area and shipping staffing levels, onboarding, training, performance appraisals, discipline, etc.
• Develops and trains Group Leaders and all direct reports.
• Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day production area operations in a cost-effective manner for all departments.
• Prepare production schedule and coordinate production activities to ensure efficient and quality products.
• Analyzes plant operations to ensure that facilities maintain a leadership position and help implement new processes and technologies.
• Works with the Operations Manager to ensure that the production area is in an optimal position to maintain performance standards in areas including procurement, scheduling, shipping, and customer service.
• Works with Operations Manager to identify and implement continuous improvement projects with focus on plant variances.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:*

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and or a combination of relevant education and experience equivalent.
• Prior experience in food manufacturing and plant supervision is preferred.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, occupational hazards and related safety precautions in the work environment.
• Food safety and food security guidelines including good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues as they arise.
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize, maintains confidentiality, and interacts with all levels of management across the organization.
• Relies on widespread experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent customer service skills and experience.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Word, Power Point, Excel, Oracle, SAP)
• Extensive manufacturing knowledge.
• Relies on experience to make good judgments.
• Understands safety regulations and requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
