GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure the meaningful and timely flow of donated goods from the Clearance Center and loading/receiving dock through the production area and stockroom to the shipping area.
To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances the profitability of Goodwill Industries.
To establish positive relationships with clients and associates to successfully implement Goodwill’s mission services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To physically handle processed and unprocessed goods in and out of the production area by hand, machine, or mechanical device or container.
2. To oversee the loading of salvage trucks and trailers.
3. To sort, label and process goods for recycling.
4. To maintain adequacy, accuracy, punctuality and confidentiality of reports and records.
5. To ensure all Customer Orders are being filled on a timely schedule.
6. To identify dock equipment needs and maintenance issues on forklift and pallet jacks.
7. To work cooperatively with the Operations Manager to meet the specific needs for customer deliveries in a timely manner.
8. To hire, train and supervise salvage team members to ensure goals of the department are met.
9. To ensure that proper documentation is prepared and attached to all shipments.
10. To conduct quality control checks on all customer orders leaving the warehouse.
11. To ensure the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of salvage operations.
12. To perform general housekeeping, custodial and janitorial duties as may be scheduled and assigned.
13. To work with the entire store team to maximize growth of the location.
14. To ensure compliance with established Goodwill policies and procedures.
15. To perform all other duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience: Previous production experience preferred. Certified in the operation of a forklift and trained to operate a baler.
Physical Requirements: Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. May be exposed to dust and odors. May be required to do limited work outdoors as well as safely operate a forklift and baler.
Safety & Security: Responsible for following all safety, security, and money handling procedures, as directed by Goodwill policy.
Must have valid and current SC Driver’s License with limited points for violations.
Work Hours: As assigned by store location.
Work Attire: Each associate is expected to present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance that will be reflective of Goodwill’s positive image in the community. Each associate is also required to abide by the dress code, including wearing the required name badge, where visible, at all times.
