Job Summary

The Program Coordinator assists the Program Director with the successful development, implementation, continuity and sustainability of the Rensselaer Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP). The Program Coordinator assists with the recruitment of program participants, and the development and delivery of programs and workshops; provides support in preparing and maintaining all RPI STEP grant reports, records, and evaluations, and maintains current, accurate student records as required by the grant; and works with the Program Director to develop the annual program budget and is responsible for purchasing and tracking expenses in accordance with Rensselaer purchasing policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in STEM or other related field
  • Three (3) or more years of directly related experience
  • Valid US driver’s license

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and superb organizational skills
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and follow up on constituent issues as needed
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work with diverse populations including middle and high school students (grades 7-12), parents and guardians

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Ability to update web pages/sites using institute web authoring tool.

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Driving

Incidental driving possible, but not required
