OACAC is seeking qualified in-house candidates for the Foster Grandparents (FG) Program Assistant Director position.

The Foster Grandparent Program Assistant Director works closely with the volunteers for orientation, in-service trainings, recognition and other events. Works closely with Foster Grandparent Director in overseeing all phases of day to day program operations. Strong interpersonal, public speaking, networking, and communication skills required.

Duties include:

• Providing support for Foster Grandparents
• Assisting the Program Director with recruitment to ensure the achievement of annual volunteer hour requirements
• Assisting the Program Director with enrollment of new Foster Grandparent volunteers
• Assisting the Program Director with planning, coordinating, and organizing all in-service meetings and annual recognition of Foster Grandparent volunteers
• Assisting the Program Director with securing local funding sources
• Attending conferences, meetings, and training related to position

Requirements:

• Proven administrative and management skills

• Experience in gerontology, volunteerism, social services, and/or community development

• Awareness of the needs of children and senior citizens

• Ability to travel within a 14-county area

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

• Strong organizational skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work effectively with volunteer and volunteer stations

• Possession of a valid Missouri driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance
