JOB SUMMARY:
The NC Programmer will create NC programs for cutting parts and materials in the fabrication department. The main objective of this role is to create NC programs in a timely manner to keep the fabrication department on schedule and keep fabrication machines operating to create parts for various facilities. The NC Programmer will work closely with the production supervisors, team leaders, design engineers, quality control, and materials management to ensure that product, process, and procedural changes are implemented smoothly.

The NC Programmer will work closely with the production supervisors, team leaders, design engineers, quality control, and materials management to ensure that product, process, and procedural changes are implemented smoothly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Create and manipulate programs for the fabrication machine process.
- Collaborate directly with manufacturing and vendors to ensure the process is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Develop and implement process improvements in a timely manner
- Clean up extraneous data from CAD drawings and save in format for input to forming software to maintain a more efficient part library function.
- Apply correct tooling for formed parts ensuring a complete form programming is provided.
- Compare order revision to part library revision and update as needed to match manufacturing order; verify part is correctly routed to fabrication machines.
- Ensure that daily hot slips are programmed and delivered to fabrication department by scheduled time to ensure fabrication stays on schedule and deliver parts in time for next operation.
- Create NC programs for new or revised parts based on need.
- Transfer and monitor forming programs.
- Provide support for best practice process improvements.
- Assist in other department functions to help cover work loads as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
- Three (3) to Five (5) year’s experience or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree
- Previous experience with CAD systems
- Experience in programming and forming metal parts
- Previous Experience in Microsoft Office Applications - Strength in Excel
- Previous Manufacturing Experience
