Oceanside Solutions (Oceanside) has a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer / Coastal & Oceanographic Engineer to assist with marine projects along the Florida coastline and Caribbean Islands.

We are currently seeking a full-time experienced Project Engineer to join our expanding team in Brevard County, Satellite Beach, Florida.

This is a professional position that requires a combination of field operations and office functions to implement coastal projects.

Specifically, responsible for project engineering activities and design, as well as quality data collection, hydrographic & topographic survey activities, bathymetric mapping, analysis, processing, and presentation of geographic information. Responsible for planning, coordination, and daily survey work under the supervision of Professional licensed surveyors and engineers. The position requires the making of value judgments and assessments with sound surveying principles with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or Hydrographic Surveying.
• 2 years or more of experience in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or Hydrographic Surveying.
• Must live in Brevard County or relocate near main office.
• Ability to work in the field in the Caribbean Islands or other parts of Florida.
• Remote locations will require a travel on occasion based on project.
• Valid passport and driver’s license are required, or the ability to attain one upon hire.
• Comfortable with boats and watercraft.
• Ability to learn advanced hydrographic and topographic survey equipment and procedures.
• General computer proficiency including, but not limited to Microsoft office and outlook.
• The ability to learn new software packages such as HYPACK, HYSWEEP, Sonar Wiz, AutoCAD, and GPS navigation.

Preferred:

• Prior experience with sonar systems, side scan sonar, seismic sub bottom, and GPS navigation
• Prior work experience in marine construction and survey fields.
• Prior experience with dredging and marine construction
• Familiarity with Trimble products, 3D laser scanners, and conventional surveying
• Experienced in land surveying and/or hydrographic mapping in marine environment.
• US Military or US Coast Guard experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
