Job Duties
Western State Hospital is seeking applicants for part time Psychiatric Care Techs for Learning Center to provide direct patient care by helping residents to carry out activities of daily living in a safe therapeutic environment.
-Providing quality care as a part of interdisciplinary team;
-Maintaining accountability in a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment;
- Creating healthy interpersonal interactions on adult acute admissions unit, geriatric unit and extended rehabilitation service unit.
- Observing and reporting feedback regarding interventions, treatments, behaviors, physical and emotional wellbeing, and other situations;
- Documenting and Communicating
1st Shift (7:00 A.M. – 3:30 P.M.) Monday thru Friday
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff. A high school graduate or equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a lead worker or other supervisory experience in related field s preferred. Previous health care experience preferred especially with individuals with severe mental illness or in the medical field. CNA and/or previous psychiatric experience preferred. some knowledge of program activities including recreation, leisure skills, communication, vocational, and educational programming is preferred. Bi-lingual Spanish and English is a plus.
