Paper packaging manufacturing company in the Waukegan area is seeking a Purchasing Manager to research, source, purchase, and manage the flow of materials and supplies. Will be responsible for negotiating prices, researching, and developing new suppliers taking into consideration quality, schedule changes and production time restraints.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Source, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing paper, ink, adhesive, and finished goods suppliers.
• Manage in-house inventory for paper rolls.
• Schedule deliveries for IL and TX from suppliers per schedule requirements.
• Coordinate the transfer of raw and finished goods to TX.
• Establish contacts with new and existing finished goods suppliers.
• Maintain pricing spread sheet for ink and glue in Illinois and Texas.
• Maintain all compliance documentation FDA, TDS, SDS and Star K certification.
• Provide support to other departments relating to materials, supplies, and complaints.
• Any other special projects assigned by management.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

Job Requirements

• At least 5 years in Procurement/Purchasing working in a manufacturing environment purchasing raw materials.
• Experience managing material flow.
• Good communication skills both inter-office and suppliers with the ability to negotiate prices.
• Computer experience working with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and on a team.
