Job Summary:
To ensure good product quality, reduction of our carbon footprint and a safe work environment through development, implementation, maintenance and enforcement of all certified management systems (ie. ISO 9001, 14001, BS OHSAS 18001, etc.), Giesecke + Devrient internal procedure and policies, Association and CQM standards and promote customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitoring Operations
- Monitor the operations to ensure they meet the approved systems and communicate any required changes to the production supervisor.
- Maintaining Records of Testing
- Maintain detailed records of the testing that’s been carried out, as well as relevant additional information, and various metrics such as the number of defective products produced each day.
- Inspecting Procedures
- Test or measure materials using gauges, calipers, and micrometers, as well as operating electronic inspection equipment to ensure that all necessary procedures and products are inspected to a high standard.
- Creating Reports for Quality Manager
- Create reports for the quality manager of the company to highlight issues, detail the number of defective products being produced, and recommend where improvements can be made.
- Maintaining Compliance
- Quality control inspectors monitor production areas, ensuring they meet health and safety compliance, and check that all manufactured products or parts meet the necessary production standards.
- Any other tasks assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma,
- Minimum of 2 years quality control experience
- Certified Quality Inspector, preferred
- Read and understand ISO procedures as well as CP, FMEAs and PF
- Prior use of measuring tool, i.e. micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.
- Excellent color discrimination
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Computer literate
- Ability to stand or walk 8 to 10 hours per day
