1. Job Title
1.1. Quality Engineer
2. Essential Functions
2.1. Coordinate activities of Quality Technicians as needed.
2.2. Train and mentor Quality Technicians as required.
2.3. Responsible for customer interfacing on quality issues for assigned responsibilities.
2.4. Responsible for supplier interfacing on quality issues for assigned responsibilities including APQP/PPAP.
2.5. Responsible for sample submissions for new product or engineering changes.
2.6. Maintain control plans, PFMEAs inspection and gage instructions and other assigned quality plan documentation.
2.7. Lead problem solving activities for internal and external concerns relating to assign responsibilities.
2.8. Maintain Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) documentation for assigned programs.
2.9. Develop, implement, and maintain data collection and metric systems to ensure effectiveness of quality systems.
2.10. Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process and quality systems.
2.11. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system.
2.12. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through appropriate channels and verify implementation.
2.13. Control further processing and delivery of nonconforming product until the deficiency is corrected.
3. Additional Responsibilities
3.1. Participate and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.
3.2. Adhere to all safety and health procedures by working in a safe manner at all times.
3.3. Any additional reasonable request deemed necessary by Management.
3.4. Has authority to approve sample submission documentation.
4. Education / Experience / Skills
4.1. Minimum four year degree or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification, or 5 years of Quality Engineer experience with progressing responsibilities in a manufacturing environment required.
4.2. Experience in achieving and maintaining IATF 16949 certification highly preferred. Experience with CCC, VDA and QAV certification highly preferred.
4.3. At least 3 years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
4.4. Minimum of 1 year experience in supplier & customer related quality engineering role.
4.5. Minimum of 1 year experience in APQP on new product launch in automotive industry.
4.6. Core AIAG Quality Training (PPAP, MSA, Control Planning, FMEA, SPC)
4.7. Demonstrate competency in metrology, blueprint reading, statistical techniques and color/appearance measurement.
4.8. Strong competency with MS Office suite, especially Excel is required.
4.9. Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions.
5. Health, Safety, & Physical Demands
5.1. Safety glasses are required to be worn at all times within the plant.
5.2. Physical demands require standing and sitting in office and manufacturing plant environment.
5.3. May require material lifting and movement manually.
5.4. Travel up to 35% may be necessary – dependent upon customer demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
