Overview
The Quality Administrator will ensure that GD-OTS quality standards are consistently maintained in our product. Fulfills their function by conducting audits, drafting quality standards, advising management on ways to improve operations, and promoting continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is an exceptionally organized, methodical professional with the experience necessary to take our products to the next level with respect to accuracy, security, and safety. As a Quality Administrator, you will be charged with developing a complete QA program that not only safeguards the quality of our products, but also fosters a “quality culture,” in which all employees become actively engaged in guaranteeing quality in both production and the finished product.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor KPI metrics to measure the results and efficiency of the quality assurance processes (i.e., Calibration, Corrective Actions, Internal Audits, etc.). Implement countermeasures as needed.
- Develop and execute the internal audit plan for GD-OTS San Diego. Ensure correct internal auditor resources are trained and available.
- Coordinate External Audits with our customers and the official registrar company for the AS9100 certification.
- Manage the Corrective Action Preventive Action program including all complaints, SCARs, audit findings, etc.
- Manage the Calibration process and our calibration suppliers, to ensure all the measuring instruments on site are adequately calibrated.
- Maintain an accurate QMS documentation process, for all processes in the site. Work with process owners to ensure these procedures meet our standard requirements.
- Provide administrative project and/or process support for the QA department, Quality Manager, and other QA Personnel.
- Provide training to company personnel at all organizational levels, on the guidelines of our Quality Management System, to foster a “First Time Quality” culture.
Basic Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor's in Business or related area and 3-5 years in similar or Quality Engineering role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Lead Auditor Certification, ASQ Certification like CQE or CMQ (Preferred), Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (Preferred).
- Experience with AS9100 (preferred) or ISO 9001. Ability to effectively organize/prioritize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and solve problems with minimal direction.
- Computer skills, Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, Strong Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) skills involving multi-functional disciplines.
- Ability to train and mentor team members.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
