PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Act as the primary quality contact who drives excellence across all functions as well as performing standard inspections, tests, and other tasks to determine whether manufactured products meet customer specifications and quality expectations.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Develops, maintains, and portrays a high degree of professionalism and technical competence both within and outside the organization, encouraging excellence through example.- Perform dimensional and final inspections as required.
- Assist with in-process and receiving inspections as required.
- Support Lean/continuous improvement principles and initiatives.
- Assist in calibration program
- Inspect product materials and electrical systems for defects and durability.
- Follow all company safety protocols
- Prepares necessary documentation and ensures paperwork compliance on all inspected items, including scanning and filing documents to appropriate locations
- Accept or reject parts/product based on customer specifications and inspection results
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of certificates and experience
- Previous participation in improvement teams to solve problems
- Experience in inspection methods, including set-ups, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
- A good understanding of machining, welding, and metal fabrication
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Very strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Lean Mfg. and DMAIC problem solving skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret specifications, prints, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with 1D, 2D, and 3D metrology methods and devices is a plus
- Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. Moderately heavy work requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing 50 pounds or less. In the performance of essential duties, the incumbent may be required to operate a variety of industrial machining tools.
