The Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Specialist is a human resources professional who
sources, screens, and recommends potential employees for Cummings Electrical. This position has a primary focus on recruiting for our Electrical Skilled Trades Division and Labor. You will be responsible for developing and executing recruiting plans and strategies that use both traditional and non-traditional sources and networks. You will also ensure that the candidates fit Cummings Electricals’ needs, culture, and policies. This position reports to the HR Director and executes responsibilities to manage the end-to-end recruitment process in the following areas: recruitment and sourcing, resume review/phone screens, tracking/organizing data, employee integration, general Human Resources duties, and maintaining candidate database via our ATS.

- Manage and coordinate the complete end-to-end recruitment process for skilled trades and additional roles, as needed.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and selection criteria.
- Review applications and interview applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements, and to provide information about the company and position.
- Assess electrical candidates on a range of technical skills that are necessary to perform safely and efficiently in the field.
- Use multiple sourcing tools and techniques to identify and attract candidates such as online social networking, traditional networking, searches, and referrals.
- Contact passive candidates and build talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
- Communicate with past applicants regarding new job opportunities.
- Evaluate skills, employment background, and qualifications of candidates.
- Ensure company staffing needs are filled in a timely manner, and that the company maintains a robust pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Prioritize and manage time effectively to meet the demands of this challenging position.
- Provide support to recruiting functions including coordinating and scheduling events and assisting in special projects as needed.
- Collect new hire packets and coordinate with managers and internal teams to ensure an organized onboarding experience for each new employee.
- Exercise discretion and judgment in HR matters, policy interpretation and conflict resolution
- Maintain management and employee confidence by keeping information confidential.
- Measure conversion rates, including numbers of passive candidates who turn into applicants.
- Promote our employer brand online and offline
- Targets are established for this position, with forecasting, to target a key element of the recruiting process. The key to success in this role is to focus and develop strategic methods.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Mainly office but may also include all other work environments as required: sit, stand, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
- Work is generally performed in climate-controlled office environment.
PHYSICAL FUNCTION
- Ability to operate a keyboard at efficient speed and typical business office equipment, including computer hardware.
- Regularly required to talk and/or hear; use hands to operate objects, tools or controls (phone, computer, printer etc.); and reach with hands and arms.
- May be occasionally be asked to lift, stoop, kneel, and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum of 4 years of experience recruiting and sourcing for professional roles, with proven success in delighting your partners across recruiting
- Track record of hiring various professional levels: from interns to leaders - we do it all on our team
- Eagerness to understand the duties and proficiencies of different roles throughout Cummings Electrical
- Availability to work outside of regular hours, as needed
- Demonstrated employment stability
- Must be able to meet multiple individual and team deadlines
- Presentation, communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter
- Ability to execute and prioritize multi-task projects
- Strong phone skills and proper phone etiquette
- Computer skills and experience leveraging technology and social media platforms
- Must be professional, with the ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
- Advanced level Microsoft Office skills needed (Word, Excel & Outlook) along with internet research capabilities
- Familiarity with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs), Candidate Management Systems (CMSs), and recruiting systems
Preferred Qualifications
- An in-depth knowledge of assessment techniques, including behavioral interviewing, is essential and previous experience recruiting with blue-collar sectors is preferred
- Experience in full-cycle recruiting and passive candidate sourcing using LinkedIn, social media, and other job boards
