Responsibilities

CenterWell is a Subsidary of Humana, seeking a hard-working and dedicated Referral Coordinator, to prepare and process all managed care referral paperwork, schedules and pre-registers patients for exams and procedures with specialists and providers outside of the primary care physician's office and who is interested in being part of a team that focuses on excellent service to others.

Job Functions:

• Prepares and processes all managed care referral paperwork.
• Gathers pertinent information from physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to complete referrals.
• Contacts various offices/facilities to obtain necessary appointments for completing referrals.
• Maintains referral records and files documentation.
• Responds to patient inquiries regarding health plan referrals.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

This position is a for a “Brand New Clinic”, and if selected you will get the chance to be the very first Referral Coordinator for this clinic located in Jackson, MS, to assist the senior population in your area. If selected your target start date as of today is 6/19/2023.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of hands-on healthcare experience in a clinical setting, preferably within the Medicare population
• 2+ years of Previous Medical Referral experience
• Proficient with medical terminology
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience with EMRs (Electronic Medical Records) / Medical Records
• Must have the ability to travel locally to assist other clinics in the area when needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business Administration
• Knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding
• Medical Assistant or Professional State Certifications related to healthcare.

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

Additional Information

• This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
• Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.
• Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.
