ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Reconcile payments and adjustments on patient accounts to ensure proper transaction codes and amounts have been applied
  • Identify trends in erroneous postings and report to supervisor
  • Submit accurate corrections to erroneous postings with regards to transaction codes and transaction amounts
  • Push accounts through the proper channels to ensure efficient flow through the revenue cycle
  • Research credit balance accounts to determine if a payer or patient has overpaid on the account
  • Price claims using contracts, prices, and payment methodologies to validate refund requests from payers
  • Pull documentation needed to support the patient or insurance refund request
  • Accurate completion of refund request forms and all daily workload
  • Consistently meet or exceed productivity expectations set for by leadership
  • Ability to perform all other duties as assigned or requested

REQUIRED

  • High School Graduate minimum education requirement
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software and E-mail software

PREFERRED

  • Associate's Degree
  • Six months related work experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to define problems collects data, validate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
