DUTIES
:

Directs and assists multiple Coast Guard Exchanges in all aspects of operations including sales, cash management, merchandising, standard retail procedures, cost reductions, and profitability. Monitors internal controls, audit reports, and security measures. Ensures adherence to EEO policies and safety-related practices. Assists in the creation of yearly budgets and ensures sales promotions, personnel actions, organizational changes, and other major administrative actions are adhered to by Exchange Managers. Assists in problem solving when not covered by established policies. Supervises and evaluates Exchange managers. Interviews, hires, trains, or directs training of assigned personnel. Encourages and develops employees by coaching, providing adequate training, and opportunities for growth. Implements financial plans including capital improvement and facility maintenance plans.


Identifies trends and recommends new business opportunities to the corporate office. Analyzes retail sales, profits, policies and systems (e.g., electronic mail; POS; ordering systems) as needed. Has total P&L accountability and sets sales goals and operating budgets to meet earnings targets. Evaluates resource utilization against financial and staffing plans. Monitors basic inventory levels and supervises year-end and turnover inventories.


Visits Exchanges and their branches on a regularly scheduled basis and when necessary.


Performs other related duties as assigned.


This position will support Region 4 which includes the following locations: TX, LA, WI, MI, OH, NY, VA and MD. Incumbent must be within commuting distance to one of the store locations. A home office may be required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
:

Minimum:

  • Proven track record of increase in sales year-over-year through the implementation of a targeted marketing campaign and the development of new sales channels
  • Experience conducting process analysis to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement with measurable results
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of cost analysis with a proven track record of cost-savings and reduction through cost analysis and implemented cost-saving measures
  • Improve quality with proven results by conducting a quality analysis by implementing new quality control program(s) or drivers.
  • Designed and implemented KPI’s (key performance indicators) to measure business performance and provide data-driven insights for decision-making
  • Ability to develop strategic plans to achieve business goals and objectives
  • At least two (2) years of experience developing and analyzing financial data such as budgets, income statements, and sales reports

8. Ability to travel up to 75%, willing to work physically in stores during times of high business needs


Preferred: (In addition to the minimum qualifications):


1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with emphasis in retail or business administration with at least two years of specialized experience. General business experience may be substituted for degree on a year for year basis.

2. Experience managing multiple units in a retail environment is preferred
