JOB SUMMARY:

The Regional V.P. of Housing Services at Volunteers of America will play a vital role in overseeing and enhancing our site-based residential programs. We are seeking an enthusiastic leader, who will effectively communicate a clear vision and provide guidance to all program staff, fostering an environment of excellence and ensuring compliance with funder requirements, licensing regulations, and best practice standards. In this dynamic position, the Regional V.P. will take full responsibility for managing all aspects of our site-based programs. This includes ensuring their financial sustainability, maintaining high-quality assurance measures, delivering positive participant outcomes, and spearheading the development of new programs. The Regional V.P. of Housing Services will be hands-on, working closely with program staff, government funding sources, community partners, and program participants. Their primary objective is to ensure the provision of exceptional care and services to all individuals enrolled in our programs.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management oversight for all residential and community-based Housing Services Programming in Upstate New York. Currently, programming is located in the Greater Rochester and Greater Binghamton areas, but growth to other geographic locations within the state is likely over the next few years.
  • Creates an environment and programming approach that promotes our mission and values
  • Creates a strategic programming model and philosophy that defines a path to success for our participants
  • Champions racial equity for employees, program participants, and the communities which we serve
  • Attains desired participant outcomes using evidence-based practices and demonstrates such success using effective systems, data collection processes and metrics
  • Ensure the implementation of all program funding contracts and related outcome, reporting and other compliance requirements.
  • Develops and implements standard operating procedures that are in alignment with VOA policies and procedures, and funder expectation
  • Implements quality assurance and program evaluation processes utilizing strength-based and evidence-based methodologies
  • Positions all programs to become accredited in their respective domains
  • Passionate advocate for participants
  • Stays abreast of community trends and implements best practice programming to fill gaps; is an active participant in appropriate community groups and forums to further the programs in the communities served
  • Leverages Agency core competencies to design and implement expansion of services
  • Proactively develops and nurtures collaborative relationships with other organizations to maximize positive impact in the community
  • Strengthens community awareness and perception of Volunteers of America supportive housing services
  • Ensures that commitments are met to funders and other stakeholders and performance measures are achieved
  • Leads staff to provide person-centered, holistic, individualized participant support services
  • Ensures effective hiring, on-boarding, goal setting, and on-going performance management of all program staff, creating an effective team structure within budget constraints
  • Conducts self-monitoring of program compliance and takes corrective actions as necessary
  • Ensures consistency of program policies and procedures across geographical operations.
  • Ensures staff are thoroughly trained and provides regular feedback
  • Works with other department heads to ensure monitoring/inspections are occurring as required
  • Develops meaningful volunteer opportunities
  • Responsible for fiscal oversight of program budgets and ensures maximum use of assets through thoughtful, resourceful stewardship
  • In conjunction with administration, develops and manages viable and diverse funding streams
  • Works in conjunction with facilities staff to address issues and assure proper upkeep and maintenance of residential properties

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, business, or related field, required
  • Master’s degree preferred with focus in business, management, or non-profit administration, social work or related field, preferred
  • Senior level non-profit leadership or business management experience, required
  • 3 years’ experience in management and strategic planning roles within residential/housing programs, required
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License, required
